On The Road Again

We left Safford, AZ, our winter home heading north, with our final destination the end of May being Glenallan, AK. We drove as far as Sun Valley, Az today. It is a wide spot in the road east of Holbrook in Northern AZ. We drove through the beautiful Salt River Canyon coming here. Boy, that canyon makes some in WY look pretty wimpy. We certainly were glad we had the big ol white truck to get us out of there... very steep and very long. Now we are in a really different little campground. It only has 22 sites, but it has chickens! Yes, you read that correctly, chickens! They just stroll around the campground and cluck and poop! The dogs think they are a little weird. First campground we have ever shared with chickens! Tomorrow we will go into Northern NM to the San Juan River to fish. Poor Barry is in serious withdrawl as he hasn't had any good trout fishing for a while, although he scored with crappie and Sun fish, as did I at Roper Lake State Park, just about a mile from my sister's house where we were living, (In her yard!) WE are expecting the weather to be measurably cooler there as it is further north, and pretty high. OK, I'll keep you posted.
